Sequester

Sequester! God gave me that word weeks ago. I literally woke up saying it, and honestly, it had been so long since I’d used the word, I had to look up a bit about the usage of it to discern what God was trying to say to me.

I read an entire article on how the court sequesters the jurors from the news media and outside influences as to not have their vote swayed. They are shielded from the outside, to only hear what is sworn as truth on a Bible, until the time for them to act comes. Then it is the judge who commissions them to act.

Maybe this speaks to someone else today because I felt impressed by God to share it this morning during my prayer time. When God gave it to me, it changed my struggle within. I was living with this heaviness of viruses, lockdowns with unforeseeable ends, murders, hatred, riots, looting, and the list went on of this carnival of chaos, and even though I brought it to God in prayer, He kept reminding me that HE is the one who is capable of carrying the heavy stuff, and I am the one who gains strength from His joy.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have PEACE. In this world you will have trouble. But TAKE HEART! I have OVERCOME the world.”                John 16:33

So, today, pray and seek God. Is He calling you to sequester yourself too? The enemy loves to use “news” like underground sewer tunnels to bubble up sewer into your life.

Maybe God is calling you to shut down those avenues of the enemy’s influence too. If it brings fear or uncertainty, click it off! God leads through peace, not fear, so maybe He’s calling you, like me, to seek Him and find Him. For in Jesus, we find peace and joy in the storm while  He commands the storm to be still.

NOTHING is too big for our GOD. ❤️
